1 속이는 저울은 여호와께서 미워하시나 공평한 추는 그가 기뻐하시느니라
2 교만이 오면 욕도 오거니와 겸손한 자에게는 지혜가 있느니라
3 정직한 자의 성실은 자기를 인도하거니와 사악한 자의 패역은 자기를 망하게 하느니라
4 재물은 진노하시는 날에 무익하나 공의는 죽음에서 건지느니라
5 완전한 자의 공의는 자기의 길을 곧게 하려니와 악한 자는 자기의 악으로 말미암아 넘어지리라
6 정직한 자의 공의는 자기를 건지려니와 사악한 자는 자기의 악에 잡히리라
7 악인은 죽을 때에 그 소망이 끊어지나니 불의의 소망이 없어지느니라
8 의인은 환난에서 구원을 얻으나 악인은 자기의 길로 가느니라
9 악인은 입으로 그의 이웃을 망하게 하여도 의인은 그의 지식으로 말미암아 구원을 얻느니라
10 의인이 형통하면 성읍이 즐거워하고 악인이 패망하면 기뻐 외치느니라
11 성읍은 정직한 자의 축복으로 인하여 진흥하고 악한 자의 입으로 말미암아 무너지느니라
12 지혜 없는 자는 그의 이웃을 멸시하나 명철한 자는 잠잠하느니라
13 두루 다니며 한담하는 자는 남의 비밀을 누설하나 마음이 신실한 자는 그런 것을 숨기느니라
14 지략이 없으면 백성이 망하여도 지략이 많으면 평안을 누리느니라
15 타인을 위하여 보증이 되는 자는 손해를 당하여도 보증이 되기를 싫어하는 자는 평안하니라

2 With pride comes disgrace, but with the humble is wisdom.
3 The integrity of the upright guides him, but the perversity of the wicked destroys him.
4 Riches avail nothing in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death.
5 The righteousness of the perfect will make straight his ways, but the wicked will fall because of his wickedness.
6 The justice of the upright will save him, but the wicked will be caught by his own wickedness.
7 When the wicked die, their hope is cut off; the hope of unrighteousness perishes.
8 The righteous will be saved from trouble, but the wicked will go his own way.
9 With his mouth a wicked man destroys his neighbor, but by his knowledge the righteous will be saved.
10 When the righteous prosper, the city rejoices; when the wicked perish, they shout for joy.
11 By the blessing of the upright a city prospers, but through the mouth of the wicked it falls.
12 A unwise man despises his neighbor, but a prudent man is silent.
13 He who goes about gossiping reveals his secrets, but he who is faithful in heart conceals such things.
14 Where there is no counsel, the people perish, but with much counsel there is peace.
15 He who is surety for another suffers loss, but he who does not like to be surety is at peace
