20230816 Wed 사도행전 22:17~29

17 후에 내가 예루살렘으로 돌아와서 성전에서 기도할 때에 황홀한 중에 

18 보매 주께서 내게 말씀하시되 속히 예루살렘에서 나가라 그들은 네가 내게 대하여 증언하는 말을 듣지 아니하리라 하시거늘

19 내가 말하기를 주님내가 주를 믿는 사람들을 가두고 또 각 회당에서 때리고

20 또 주의 증인 스데반이 피를 흘릴 때에 내가 곁에 서서 찬성하고 그 죽이는 사람들의 옷을 지킨 줄 그들도 아나이다

21 나 더러 또 이르시되 떠나가라 내가 너를 멀리 이방인에게로 보내리라 하셨느니라

 22 이 말하는 것까지 그들이 듣다가 소리 질러  이르되 이러한 자는 세상에서 없애 버리자 살려 둘 자가 아니라 하여

23 떠들며 옷을 벗어 던지고 티끌을 공중에 날리니

24 천부장이 바울을 영내로 데려가라 명하고 그들이 무슨 일로 그에 대하여 떠드는지 알고자 하여 채찍질하며 심문하라 한대

25 가죽 줄로 바울을 매니 바울이 곁에 서 있는 백부장더러 이르되 너희가 로마 시민 된 자를 죄도 정하지 아니하고 채찍질할 수 있느냐 하니

26 백부장이 듣고 가서 천부장에게 전하여 이르되 어찌하려 하느냐 이는 로마 시민이라 하니

27 천부장이 와서 바울에게 말하되 네가 로마 시민이냐 내게 말하라 이르되 그러하다

28 천부장이 대답하되 나는 돈을 많이 들여 이 시민권을 얻었노라 바울이 이르되 나는 나면서부터라 하니

29 심문하려던 사람들이 곧 그에게서 물러가고 천부장도 그가  로마 시민인 줄 알고 또 그 결박한 것 때문에 두려워하니라

 

17 Later, when I returned to Jerusalem and prayed in the temple, I was in a state of rapture.

18 I saw that the Lord said to me, “Get out of Jerusalem quickly, for they will not listen to your testimony about me.”

19 I said, Lord, I imprison those who believe in you and beat them in every synagogue.

20 And they know that I stood by and consented to the blood of Stephen, your witness, and guarded the garments of those who killed him.

21 He also said to me, Go away, and I will send you far away to the Gentiles.

  22 When they heard all this being said, they cried out, saying, "Let's get rid of these people from the world; they are not to be spared."

23 They make a noise, throw off their clothes, and throw dust into the air.

24 The commander ordered Paul to be brought into the camp and interrogated him with a whip to find out what they were talking about.

25 After Paul was bound with leather cords, Paul said to the centurion who stood by, "Can you whip a Roman citizen innocently?"

26 When the centurion heard it, he went and reported it to the commander, saying, "What are you going to do? This man is a Roman citizen."

27 The commander came and said to Paul, Are you a Roman citizen? Tell me.

28 The commander answered, "I paid a lot of money to get this citizenship." Paul said, "I was born."

29 Immediately those who were going to question him withdrew from him, and the commander, knowing that he was a Roman citizen, was afraid because of his imprisonment.
