20230821 Mon 사도행전 24:24~25:12

24 수일 후에 벨릭스가 그 아내 유대 여자 드루실라와 함께 와서 바울을 불러 그리스도 예쑤 믿는 도를 듣거늘

25 바울이 의와 절제와 장차 오는 심판을 강론하니 벨릭스가 두려워하여 대답하되 지금은 가라 내가 틈이 있으면 너를 부르리라 하고

26 동신에 또 바울에게서 돈을 받을까 바라는 고로 더 자주 불러 같이 이야기하더라

27 이태가 지난 후 보르기오 베스도가 벨릭스의 소임을 이어 받으니 벨릭스가 유대인의 마음을 얻고자 하여 바울을 구류하여 두니라

 1 베스도가 부임한 지 삼 일 후에 가이사랴에서 예루살렘으로 올라가니

2 대제사장들과 유대인 중 높은 사람들이 바울을 고소할새

3 베스도의 호의로 바울을 예루살렘으로 옮기기를 청하니 이는 길에 매복하였다가 그를 죽이고자 함이더라

4 베스도가 대답하여 바울이 가이사랴에 구류된 것과 자기도 멀지 않아 떠나갈 것을 말하고

5 또 이르되 너희 중 유력한 자들은 나와 함께 내려가서 그 사람에게 만일 옳지 아니한 일이 있거든 고발하라 하니라

6 베스도가 그들 가운데서 팔 일 혹은 십 일을 지낸 후 가이사랴로 내려가서 이튿날 재판 자리에 앉고 바울을 데려오라 명하니

7 그가 나오매 예루살렘에서 내려온 유대인들이 둘러서서 여러 가지 중대한 사건으로 고발하되 능히 증거를 대지 못한지라

8 바울이 변명하여 이르되 유대인의 율법이나 성전이나 가이사에게나 내가 도무지 죄를 범하지 아니하였노라  하니

9 베스도가 유대인의 마음을 얻고자 하여 바울더러 묻되 네가 예루살렘에 올라가서 이 사건에 대하여 내 앞에서 심문을 받으려느냐

10 바울이 이르되 내가 가이사의 재판자리 앞에 섰으니 마땅히 거리서 심문을 받을 것이라 당신도 잘 아는 바와 같이 내가 유대인들에게 불의를 행한 일이 없나이다

11 만일 내가 불의를 행하여 무슨 죽을 죄를 지었으면 죽기를 사양하지 아니할 것이나 만일 이 사람들이 나를 고발하는 것이 다 사실이 아니면 아무도 나를 그들에게 내 줄 수 없나이다 내가 가이사께 상소하노라 한대

12 베스도가  배석자들과 상의하고 이르되 네가 가이사에게 상소하였으니 가이사에게 갈 것이라 하니라

24 After a few days, Felix came with his wife Drusilla, a Jewish woman, and summoned Paul to hear about

 the faith in Christ Jesus.

25 While Paul was discussing righteousness and self-control and the judgment to come, Felix was afraid and answered, "Go away for now, and when I have

 an opportunity I will call for you."

26 In the same year, they called more often to talk with him, hoping that he might get money from Paul.

27 After two weeks, Porcius Festus took over Felix's duties, and Felix, wanting to win over the Jews, 

put Paul into custody.

  1 Three days after Festus had arrived, he went up from Caesarea to Jerusalem.

2 The chief priests and the chief Jews brought charges against Paul.

3 In Festus' favor, they requested that Paul be brought to Jerusalem, so that they might kill him in ambush

 on the road.

4 Festus answered and told them that Paul had been taken into custody in Caesarea and that he 

would soon be leaving as well.

5 And he said, "Let those who are powerful among you go down with me, and if there is anything wrong with the man, report it."

6 After Festus had spent eight or ten days among them, he went down to Caesarea, and the next day 

sat down on the judgment seat and ordered that Paul be brought to him.

7 When he came out, the Jews who had come down from Jerusalem surrounded him and accused him 

of many serious things, but they could not give any evidence.

8 Paul defended himself, saying, "I have never sinned against the Jewish law, or against the temple, 

or against Caesar."

9 Festus, wanting to win the hearts of the Jews, asked Paul, “Will you go up to Jerusalem to stand trial

 before me on this matter?”

10 Paul said, "I stand before the judgment seat of Caesar; I ought to be tried in the street. As you well know, I have done no wrong to the Jews."

11 If I had done unrighteousness and committed some mortal sin, I would not refuse to die; but if all

 these people accuse me of is untrue, no one can hand me over to them. I appeal to Caesar.

12 Festus consulted with those present and said, "You have appealed to Caesar, so you will go to Caesar."
